Job Description:
- Credit coverage of an assigned portfolio of medium and large local corporate clients across Global Corporate and Investment Bank. Lead, coordinate, and manage end‑to‑end credit approval, structuring, and ongoing credit administration.
- Participate in credit decision‑making and prepare high‑quality Credit Approval Memoranda in support of committing the bank's balance sheet and risk resources.
- Recommend and approve credit facilities within delegated authority, ensuring strict adherence to internal credit policies, risk appetite, and all internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate client performance through in‑depth analysis of business models, industry positioning, macroeconomic conditions, and detailed financial analysis (financial spreads, ratios, cash flows, and projections). Build and maintain strong client and sector knowledge.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of individual credit exposures and provide clear, concise, and insightful credit analysis and risk assessments.
- Responsible for accuracy of internal risk ratings, timely rating updates, and proactive tracking of credit quality throughout the credit lifecycle, with the objective of maintaining and improving portfolio health.
- Partner closely with relationship managers, product partners, and other stakeholders to support business growth while delivering appropriate risk‑adjusted returns.
- Ensure assigned portfolio and credit processes achieve satisfactory outcomes in internal audits, credit reviews, and regulatory examinations.
- Liaise with documentation, legal, compliance, finance, and other support functions on credit‑related matters, including transaction structuring and execution.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to adopt and effectively leverage AI‑enabled tools and data analytics solutions available in the workplace to enhance credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, productivity, and decision‑making quality.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and development support to junior team members as required.
Requirement:
- Candidate should have strong academic credentials, with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related disciplines preferred.
- 8 year plus credit risk experience at a major international financial institution, with proven capability in analyzing and assessing corporate credit risk, structuring transactions, and reviewing legal documentation.
- Strong credit judgment with a deep understanding of the broader business, market, and regulatory environment, and how these factors impact client and portfolio credit profiles. Ability to confidently defend well‑reasoned, fact‑based credit positions.
- Sound product, technical, documentation, and process knowledge across corporate lending, trade finance, and derivative products, including FX, rates, commodities, and equities.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex transactions, driving deal selection, negotiating solutions, and proactively identifying and mitigating credit risks across the portfolio.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to contribute to value‑added client and internal discussions, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to act as an agent of change, influencing policy and process improvements while supporting strategic objectives of the credit function and broader business.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple stakeholders, and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including the ability to prepare, review, and challenge company‑specific financial models.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin essential
