Job Description - Procure to Pay / Accounts Payable LeadRole Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Procure-to-Pay (P2P) professional to manage end-to-end Accounts Payable operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong functional expertise, hands-on ERP knowledge, and a continuous-improvement attitude to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely processing of invoices, vendor data, and payments while actively supporting automation and process optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) operations, ensuring adherence to company policies, controls, and compliance requirements.
- Perform timely review and approval of AP transactions, including invoices, payments, and vendor master updates.
- Process vendor payments by preparing and transmitting domestic and international bank payment files accurately and on time.
- Oversee invoice processing, vendor master creation, and payment execution with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and standardization.
- Collect and validate required documentation and conduct due diligence to create, maintain, and update supplier records in ERP systems (Oracle/SAP).
- Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to resolve issues, close process gaps, and stabilize operations.
- Partner with business owners to obtain approvals and gain a clear understanding of expenses and cost allocations.
- Work directly with vendors to resolve past-due balances, payment issues, and remittance discrepancies.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Review year-end book closure activities and support financial reporting accuracy.
- Participate in process improvement, transformation, and ERP enhancement projects, including automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance operations and technology teams to convert manual processes into efficient, automated workflows.
- Operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Provide team guidance or mentoring as needed; prior people management experience is an added advantage.
Functional & Technical Skills
- Strong end-to-end knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable processes
- Invoice processing, vendor master management, and payment operations
- Domestic and international banking processes
- Month-end and year-end close support
- Audit readiness and compliance awareness
- Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle R12, and/or Oracle Cloud Fusion
- Strong understanding of ERP controls, data accuracy, and process flows
- Experience with AP process automation and system enhancements
- Exposure to AI applications in AP/P2P processes is an added advantage
- Ability to work with IT teams to implement digital workflows
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, reporting, reconciliation)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and trends
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Proven ability to engage internal interested parties and external vendors
- Confident, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to problem solving
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Adaptability in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
- Continuous improvement approach with a focus on process optimization
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BCom) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, IT, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Procure-to-Pay, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end AP operations.
- Prior experience with ERP implementations, upgrades, or process transformations is highly desirable.
- Project management experience with a track record of delivering results on time and with quality.
