Description
This is a great opportunity to join the Real Estate Tax team sitting within the wider Private Business Tax function of this Big 4 firm. The client base of this team ranges from large privately owned businesses and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) to high-net-worth property owners. With this client base in mind there is a great variety of work, with Real Estate concerns often central to business structure, strategy and planning. Whilst you will have exposure to transactions and deals work, this might not be as much of a focus as in more traditional large corporate Real Estate teams and you will have a broader commercial focus.Key responsibilities:
- Work across Real Estate tax and broader corporate tax consulting, with flexibility to build expertise in both areas depending on client needs and your interests.
- Advise on property ownership structures, acquisitions, disposals, financing arrangements, and tax issues affecting UK and overseas investors and social businesses.
- Lead due diligence work on property and corporate acquisitions, coordinating with specialists in VAT, Stamp Taxes, and the Construction Industry Scheme.
- Manage client relationships, support junior colleagues, and work closely with Directors and Engagement Leaders on REIT matters and group reorganisations.
- ACA/CTA qualified (or an international equivalent) , with a strong technical foundation relevant to the role.
- Interested in Real Estate and housing, while being flexible to support wider tax areas as needed.
- Experienced in key taxes including Corporation Tax, VAT, SDLT, and the Construction Industry Scheme.
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of the real estate and social business sectors.
- Confident managing clients, solving complex problems, and leading projects within a collaborative team.
- Motivated to develop yourself and others, with the potential to progress to Director over time.
