Are you ready to accelerate your career in APAC primary markets? Join J.P. Morgan's APAC Yen Bond Syndicate as an Associate in Tokyo, where your syndication expertise and market insight will drive best‑in‑class execution across JPY offerings-Samurai, Euroyen and domestic.As an Associate in the Asia Pacific Debt Syndicate team, you will be responsible for originating and syndicating JPY primary bond offerings (Samurai, Euroyen, and domestic) from Tokyo and supporting EMTN and private placements for SSA, financial, and corporate issuers. You will partner across Syndicate, DCM, Banking, Sales & Trading and liaise with trading desks to shape trade ideas, pricing and execution, while coordinating with Middle Office and Global Deal Management to align internal systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Engage in the origination and execution of global primary bond issues, primarily JPY such as Samurai/Euroyen and Domestic deal.
- Provide support to the Global EMTN Desk and contribute to private placement origination & execution for JPM's SSA issuers, financial institutions and corporate issuers.
- Build partnership with internal partners across functions globally - Global Syndicate, DCM, Banking, Sales and Trading to originate and execute trade ideas to investor clients in the region.
- Arrange Issuer roadshows and collect investor feedback from Sales teams post roadshows
- Collaborate with Middle Office and the Global Deal Management team on internal systems management and alignment with global practice.
- Liaise with the internal trading desks within the Global Markets franchise on pricing and generating trade ideas.
- Prepare daily and other periodical market updates
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Highly driven, detail-oriented, diligent with strong analytical, communication and writing skills
- Self-starter, well organized and detailed-oriented with strong commitment to accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively
- Japanese & English fluency is essential, both written and spoken
- Strong IT skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), MS Outlook, general comfort level with Internet/Intranet usage and ability to learn proprietary software
- Team and service oriented. Proactively share information, knowledge and ideas among the Team
- Assist with the post trade process by ensuring the accuracy of all entries and to ensure internal controls are followed
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English, verbally and written.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Basic understanding of financial statements and economics preferred
