Description
We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer to join the Credit Trading Legal team, which supports a number of businesses (including Strategic Financing Solutions, Credit Markets Private Capital Solutions, Fundamental Credit Trading, Credit Portfolio Group, Emerging Markets Credit Trading, Liquid Finance Solutions, and Credit Digital Markets) within the Investment Bank. This lawyer will join a collaborative group of lawyers and partner with operations specialists, traders and salespersons, among others. Responsibilities will include:- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating confidentiality agreements, non-reliance letters, big boy letters, and cooperation agreements;
- Preparing secondary loan trading agreements (including assignment and participation agreements based on the Loan Syndication and Trading Association ("LSTA") forms);
- Overseeing trade closings and documentation relating to the purchase and sale of debt, equity, and claims, as well as supporting corporate actions;
- Preparing credit documentation for trader review.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has the ability to handle and prioritize competing demands and is eager to take advantage of opportunities to take on increasing responsibility. He or she will also enjoy partnering with a range of stakeholders on a daily basis in a fast-moving, dynamic business environment.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent English skills, both oral and written
- Comfort with working independently and proactively, and eagerness to take ownership over assigned tasks
- Financial institution experience a plus
- Willingness to stretch into new or unfamiliar tasks in support of the business and broader team, and ability to leverage internal resources while doing so
- Experience with LSTA documentation and confidentiality agreements a plus
