We aim to strategically distribute charitable funds, maximize our donors’ impact, and strengthen their communities through stewardship and commitment to sustainable change.
Company History
The Communities Foundation of Oklahoma stems from the vision of Tom McCasland Jr., and Gene Rainbolt. Two decades ago, these gentlemen formed a shared vision to create a single philanthropic organization to serve the charitable needs to rural communities across the great state of Oklahoma. Today, CFO has grown to assist hundreds of efforts in more than 45 counties.
In Oklahoma, we come together to give. But giving doesn’t look the same to everyone. At Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, we work with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds that support the community causes they care about. We exist to find long-term, systemic solutions addressing the root causes of the most pressing issues facing our state. Since 2001, we have helped donors give away over $194 million through 43,843 grants. Each one of these donors represent 1,225 different funds and a commitment to service through strengthening and supporting the greater good.
With a history so rich and vibrant, how do we keep focused on the future? Simple. We hold to a vision. We strive to be the region’s most trusted resource for growing philanthropy to improve communities by connecting the passions of individuals with the purposes of nonprofits.
