Temporary/Seasonal Tax Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Specialist to join our Pittsburgh office on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing and reviewing individual and trust income tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team serving high-net-worth clients with complex estate and trust tax needs.
Assignment to last through tax season - approximately 3 months

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and trusts accurately and timely.
- Gather and analyze financial data, including income, deductions, and distributions related to estates and trusts.
- Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, and clients to obtain necessary documentation and clarify tax issues.
- Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations, staying updated on relevant changes.
- Maintain organized records of all filings and correspondence.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the tax team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or EA designation preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing individual and trust tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, CCH Axcess, or similar).
Work Schedule:
- Flexible hours, approximately 35 hours or more per week, with potential for increased hours during peak tax season. Time and a half paid over 40 hours.
Wage: $40.00 - 55.00 per hour.
