Amazon Consumer Payment team is looking for a talented Sr. Product Manager to build products that are fundamental to the fast growth of the business.The mission of the Amazon co-brand credit card (CBCC) team is to deliver exceptional value to Amazon customers every time they use their card on or off-Amazon. We own features and models that aim to delight customers by continuously improving customers experience, Amazon Points, special promotions and other benefits.
The Product Manager will work closely with the tech team to champion product ideas from ideation and planning to execution to build a scalable amazon payment services. The right candidate possesses a strong product / tech program management background, a deep understanding of the competitive landscape in Japan and demonstrated experience leading large projects.
You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity. This means you are not only able to own high-level strategic initiatives, but also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will have good executive presence and excellent verbal/ written communication.
Key job responsibilities
- You will lead planning and execution high visibility consumer-facing and other projects to improve CX of Japanese co-branded credit card customers and grow the CBCC business in Japan. For these, you will work closely with UX designers, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Tech and external partners such as the issuer bank.
- You will work closely with tech team in BLR to help them unblock any issues. You will take part in daily stand ups/sprint planning/retros. You will escalate when needed and use your influence to accelerate project delivery.
- You will create and maintain tech development roadmap by taking part in annual/quarterly planning exercises, you will quickly help re-prioritize initiatives when needed.
A day in the life
As a Product Manager, you'll shape the future of Amazon's credit card offerings in Japan by analyzing customer behavior, market trends, and competitive dynamics to refine our value propositions and differentiate our portfolio. You'll collaborate with UX Designers to create customer experiences that align with strategic goals, and work with Tech teams to balance near-term execution with long-term roadmap planning.
Your week will include partnering with Marketing and Finance to evaluate acquisition economics and design strategies that drive customer adoption and engagement. You'll also lead cross-functional alignment with Issuer partners, Legal, and other stakeholders through PR/FAQs, BRDs, and strategic reviews.
This role combines customer insight, business strategy, and product thinking, giving you the opportunity to guide the evolution of Amazon's card experiences as we explore new segments and higher-value opportunities.
About the team
Amazon's Credit Card Product team sets the strategic roadmap for our financial services in Japan, leading portfolio-level thinking including long-term customer value strategy, benefit design, competitive positioning, and cross-functional prioritization with Tech, Marketing, and Issuer partners.
We manage one of Japan's fastest-growing card portfolios and are exploring expanded value propositions and new customer segments. This requires deep customer understanding, competitive assessment, business modeling, and multi-year strategic planning.
The team operates with strong ownership and a data-driven culture. As a Product Manager, you'll shape strategic direction, drive cross-functional alignment, and influence decisions that impact Amazon's future in financial services.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience owning technology products
- Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
- Business level English and Japanese language ability (speaking, reading, writing).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
