Office of General Accounting
Program Assistant Administrative Services
Under general supervision of the Associate Director or other supervisory officer in the General Accounting/Accounts Payable area at Kean University, the Program Assistant Administrative Services is responsible for performing basic professional functions to support accounts payable processing and General Accounting office operations, including overseeing the payment and maintenance of a large volume of purchase and blanket orders from various departments using established policies, procedures, precedents, and guidelines; and does related work as required. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Some travel may also be required.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business, Finance and/or Accounting. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute position-related experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate's degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. The ideal candidate will have one year of experience working in accounts payable, preferably at a higher education institution utilizing Ellucian Colleague or the Datatel financial module. Excellent customer service skills and oral and written communication skills are essential.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $51,479.83 to $58,462.15 (Steps 1-4). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
