As the Manager of Financial Accounting & Control, you will lead the delivery of centralized financial reporting and control services for the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group. In this role, you will guide global processes, champion continuous improvement, and build strong partnerships across the business. You will also help onboard new activities into the Finance CoE, ensuring a smooth transition and long-term operational excellence.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, solid project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely, accurate accounting aligned with LSEG's global accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify risks and process gaps, recommend improvements, and lead the implementation of solutions.
- Partner with the Financial Controls team to maintain strong alignment with the Financial Controls Framework.
- Lead teams to meet tight reporting and audit timelines.
- Support internal and external audits by providing clear, timely information.
- Manage onboarding of new scope areas and ensure alignment with our standard operating model.
- Maintain strong balance sheet controls and ensure team adherence.
- Build a deep understanding of key business processes to support operational excellence.
- Develop standardized training materials to ensure consistent onboarding for new team members.
- Design and track KPIs to measure team effectiveness and share updates proactively.
- Strengthen team resilience through thoughtful succession planning.
- Work with Finance Systems Support teams to identify system improvements or corrective actions.
- Contribute to group projects and change initiatives.
- Support other ad-hoc requirements as needed.
- Professional Accounting Qualification and/or relevant degree with 5-7 years' post-qualification experience, ideally including time in a Big 4 audit firm.
- Experience working in a finance shared-services environment is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, including implementation and monitoring.
- Solid knowledge of technical accounting concepts and principles.
- Ability to build positive relationships with global colleagues.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving business and regulatory environments while managing multiple priorities.
- Growth mindset and openness to learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that connect with diverse audiences.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work according to UK business hours.
- Strong planning and prioritization capabilities.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion, Oracle, HFM/FCCS and BlackLine is an advantage.
