Responsibilities
An accounting intern supports the finance department by performing daily bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing procedures. They typically work under the supervision of a manager or staff accountants to gain practical experience in financial data analysis, auditing, and accounting software, usually while pursuing a degree in accounting or finance.
Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping & Transactions: Processing accounts payable and receivable, managing invoices, and reconciling bank accounts.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, journal entries, and month-end close activities
• Data Analysis & Research: Analyzing financial data, conducting research for audits or tax issues, and assisting with forecasting.
• Administrative Tasks: Filing, scanning documents, and maintaining accurate, updated financial records.
• System Maintenance: Entering financial data into software (e.g., Excel, Dynamics Great Plains).
Education / Qualifications
• Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), strong attention to detail, and good verbal/written communication skills.
• Attributes: Ability to work independently, professional demeanor, and high ethical standards.
