The Role
My client is an established bank globally, and we are seeking a high-calibre Vice President - Credit Risk to lead credit strategy, portfolio oversight, and risk governance across our Consumer Finance portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of credit risk strategy across the Consumer Finance portfolio
- Own underwriting policy, credit appetite, scorecard oversight, and decisioning frameworks
- Monitor portfolio performance, early warning indicators, and stress testing outcomes
- Drive IFRS 9 / CECL provisioning oversight and capital optimisation initiatives
- Oversee model governance, validation, and regulatory compliance (Basel, local regulatory frameworks)
- Partner with Product, Pricing, Finance, and Collections to ensure risk-adjusted profitability
- Present portfolio performance, risk appetite metrics, and emerging risks to senior governance forums
- Lead and develop a high-performing credit risk team
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in credit risk within retail/consumer banking
- Proven leadership experience managing senior risk professionals
- Strong in SEA markets (ideally Indonesia)
- Strong understanding of consumer lending products and lifecycle risk management
- Ability to manage and work with regional stakeholders
