An established insurance services business is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Sydney based Finance team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to broaden their experience and progress their career in a supportive, growth focused environment. Operating across multiple entities, the business is going through a period of integration and system improvement, offering genuine exposure to end to end accounting and future development.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role supporting day-to-day finance operations across the group. Initially, you will manage the end to end accounting for a smaller entity before progressively taking on additional responsibilities across the wider business.
What you'll need to succeed

• End to end accounts payable and accounts receivable processing experience
• Exposure to month end journals, reconciliations and reporting
• Experience completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ability to identify opportunities to streamline and automate finance processes
• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Studying CPA or CA or planning to commence
• Experience using Xero (preferred)
• Insurance industry experience (preferred)
