THE COMPANY

Rooted in their commitment and service to their clients, the company has a well-received yet stable brand within the Banking sector. They currently seek a Legal Key liaison (Legal and Credit Administration Documentation) to be part of their team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Be the key liaison and contact point between the bank and external legal counsel
2. Understand and instruct external legal counsel to provide legal advisory interpretation services, drafting legal correspondence (Letters of set-off and Demand letters etc), assist in reviewing litigation casesRegistration of security documents, Legal opinions
3. Release & discharge of securities and Redemptions
4. Non-standard security and facility documentation
5. Shipbuilding contracts, refund guarantees, debentures, assignments, mortgages
6. Review Legal documentsInjunctions
7. Winding-up notices
8. Court orders
9. Garnishee orders
10. Notices from liquidators, official assignees, or receivers
11. Review executed documents submitted by borrowers to ensure completeness and enforceability. To identify irregularities from approved credit terms and ensure appropriate rectification
12. Review security documents, facility letters and agreement prepared by both officers and external lawyers (for non-standard documentation) to ensure completeness and enforceability
13. Manage the execution and closure of legal documentation for non-standard credits
14. Review Performance Bonds, Letters of Guarantee, Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), Bank Guarantees (BGs) and provide recommendations/raise any legal concerns or issues for management's approval
15. Download/distribute weekly Credit Monitoring System reports to Credit Marketing and General Manager (i.e. to monitor legal action involving borrower and guarantors)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Degree in Law or any other relevant education
2. Relevant banking legal documentation and has acted as legal key liaison with external legal counsels
3. Meticulous, organized, team player and has good interpersonal skills
