Description

The Staff Accountant maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and coordinates intermediate level accounting functions such as general ledger/account maintenance, account reconciliation, data processing and reporting.   The Staff Accountant reports to the Director of Finance. Requirements

  1. Reconciles monthly bank and credit card statements.
  2. Reconciles monthly employee benefits.
  3. Reconciles petty cash and gift card funds.
  4. Ensures all transactions have appropriate documentation for compliance.
  5. Aids in the month-end closing process.
  6. Ensures accuracy of financial reporting in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  7. Ensures timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, such as accruals.
  8. Tracks prepaid expenses and ensures that these expenses are amortized properly each month.
  9. Records and reconciles Funds Held in Trust transactions.   
  10. Records gift card distributions.
  11. Assists with preparation of Annual Financial Audit, 990, and Funding Audits.
  12. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget.
  13. Manages the annual 1099 reporting process.
  14. Ensures appropriate use of restricted funds.
  15. Processes bi-weekly payroll
  16. All other duties as assigned by Director of Finance.
