Position Overview:

The Financial Reporting & Operational Risk (“FROR”) Senior Accountant will join a growing team that interacts with many departments across MITIMCo. The Accountant will be primarily responsible for the preparation and review of daily risk reporting, monthly validation of administrator produced NAV packages, the monitoring of regulatory thresholds and the resultant preparation of regulatory filings, supporting the tax preparation cycle and aiding in the review of the resultant returns, and the maintenance of the operational due diligence cycle.  The FROR Senior Accountant will also support ad hoc requests related to the underlying investments held by MIT or its affiliates or the managers that advise MIT’s assets. Incumbent will demonstrate strong communication and writing skills, the ability to prioritize his/her own work, meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, be attentive to detail and adjust easily to shifting priorities. Strong Microsoft Office and research skills are essential.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Analyze and distribute daily risk report for multi-billion-dollar investment partnership, noting any threshold breaches to the reader.
• Validate management and incentive fees for Separately Managed Accounts, Funds of One, and other fund structures.
• Assist in the review of monthly NAV packages including capital activity, fees, and valuation.
• Monitor daily, monthly and annual regulatory reporting thresholds that trigger filings.
• Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory filings. (e.g. Form 13F-HR, TIC-SLT, BEA-185)
• Assist in the migration of books and records from current fund administrator to a successor. Help ensure workflows and outputs are improved under new administrator.
• Facilitate operational due diligence of external managers throughout the investment life cycle.
• Review and approve investment related expenses submitted for reimbursement.
• Assist in the analysis and marketing of closed-end fund positions for the secondary market.
• Support the Financial Reporting & Operational Risk group by providing coverage and assistance with ongoing operations as well as both tactical and strategic initiatives underway.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes.

Supervision Received:

• Will report directly to the Associate Director, Financial Reporting & Operational Risk.
• Ability to work independently is required.
